The Ultimate Guide For Looking After Your ArcPit & Accessories
The ArcPit and BBQ accessories are made from high quality 430 food grade stainless steel (3mm).
Proper care and maintenance will ensure the life of your ArcPit and accessories.
CLEANING YOUR ARCPIT
1. Allow the fire pit to cool down completely before handling or cleaning.
2. Empty ashes and debris into an approved location or biodegradable bag for disposal.
3. Brush or wipe out any remaining ash with a soft brush or cloth.
4. Use a damp cloth with mild soap and water to rinse both the inside and outside of the ArcPit.
5. If you notice any stubborn marks on the stainless steel we recommend using a good quality stainless steel cleaner such as, 'Bar Keepers Friend' available online or at Woolworths & Bunnings.
STORING YOUR ARCPIT
- When not in use: store your ArcPit in a dry, well ventilated covered area protecting it from the weather.
- Inspect: the ArcPit regularly to ensure the location you have selected is suitable.
MAINTAINING YOUR ARCPIT
- Inspection: Inspect the ArcPit regularly to ensure structural components are still sound, this includes the welds around the legs and tie down points.
- Rust: if you notice any rust spots appear on the ArcPit, it is recommend you treat these sports as soon as practical. Minor surface rust spots may appear on the ArcPit over time, however if the ArcPit is cared for correctly these spots will easily disappear with a quality stainless steel cleaner, such as 'Bar Keepers Friend'.
- Discolouration: the ArcPit will turn a bronze-red colour after use, this is due to the high heat caused by a fire. To bring the ArcPit back to a 'shinny' condition, we recommend cleaning the ArcPit regularly with a high quality stainless steel cleaner.
CLEANING YOUR ARCPLATE
1. Use heat resistant gloves to remove the ArcPlate from the ArcPit as soon as you have finished cooking.
2. While the ArcPlate is still warm, but not hot, hold the handle and wash the BBQ plate with warm soapy water and a non-scratch abrasive scourer (approved for use on stainless steel). We do not recommend allowing the ArcPlate to cool completely before cleaning, as any oil marks or food will be more difficult to clean.
3. To avoid water marks, dry ArcPlate immediately and thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
4. If you have any stubborn marks on the ArcPlate, like burnt on food or oil, we recommend using a good quality stainless steel cleaner such as, 'Bar Keepers Friend' available online or at Woolworths & Bunnings.
