After countless family camping trips across Australia, we faced a common struggle: fitting all our gear comfortably. Who wants to shove a dirty fire pit into a clean caravan or cram it into a car already packed with the kids and pets? We were also fed up with the hassle of assembling flat packs, a frustration Michael, despite his building background, found particularly aggravating.
Determined to find a solution, Michael combined his skills and passion to design the ArcPit — a fire pit that is not only easy to use but also remarkably convenient and practical to store. As the lightest portable fire pit on the market and one of the few that requires no assembly, the ArcPit Fire Pit was born to make camping simpler and more enjoyable.
From Cardboard box to Campfire
It didn’t begin as a product. It began as a problem.
Sitting around a campfire after another frustrating pack-down, Michael wondered why every fire pit had to be so difficult to set up, and take up valuable space in the car.
So he built one out of a cardboard box.
Using tape and a spare tyre as a template, he created the first ever tyre-mounted fire pit prototype in our garage. That rough cardboard version went on real camping trips, was adjusted, rebuilt and tested over and over until the ArcPit was born.
