Why the extendable legs?
More and more campgrounds throughout Australia are changing their requirements around portable fire pits.
One of the most common new requirements is contained fire pits must be 300mm off the ground.
The reason behind this requirement is not only to protect our landscapes, but also to provide safety at camp. Children, pets and wildlife are at risk of serious injury from fires which are lit on the ground.

Perfect Pork crackling over the fire
There’s nothing better than hearing crackling blister over real flames.
With the ArcMate Rotisserie Kit, you get even rotation, steady heat and that proper wood-fired flavour.
- Pat the pork skin completely dry with paper towel.
- Cover generously with sea salt and allow it to draw out moisture.
- Start with 1–2 charcoal chimneys full of hot coals — the hotter the better to kickstart the crackle.
- Attach the pork to the rotisserie rod and let it rotate evenly over the heat.
Pro tip:
We use gidgee or mallee root charcoal lumps when cooking pork — they burn hot and help achieve that perfect blistered crackling.
