Mess free charcoal storage

Built tough for the Aussie outdoors – Heavy-duty, waterproof PVC construction designed to keep charcoal or firewood dry and protected in any weather. Built to handle rough 4WD trips, camp dust, and unexpected rain — no soggy charcoal, no stress.

Mess-free storage & transport – Keep dirt, dust, and charcoal residue contained. The reinforced base, durable zip, and optional inner liner make it easy to load, carry, and pour without making a mess of your car, canopy, or caravan.

Compact, lightweight, ready to roll – Packs down flat when empty and stores neatly with your ArcPit gear. Designed to live in your rig permanently so you’re always ready for a flame-grilled feed on your next adventure.

Easy to use & smart storage

Load your charcoal, roll the top down, and secure it with the heavy-duty metal clip to lock dust in and keep water out. Two strong carry handles make it easy to grab and go, and the external pocket is perfect for storing fire starters, or lighters — everything you need, all in one spot.

Available in two sizes

Choose between the Small (holds 4–5kg) for overnight or weekend trips, or the Large (6–8kg) when you’re heading off-grid for longer adventures or cooking multiple roasts over the fire. No matter the trip, there’s a bag that fits your setup.

What charcoal is best for a roast?

Hardwood Lump Charcoal – Our favourite.
Made from natural Aussie hardwoods like ironbark or gidgee, lump charcoal burns hotter and gives off that authentic smoky flavour. It’s perfect for roasts because you can maintain steady heat for hours without heavy smoke or chemical smells.

Charcoal Briquettes – Best for slow cooking.
If you want a slower, more even burn (great for longer roasts like pork or lamb), briquettes are a solid pick. They hold heat well and reduce the need for constant topping up — just make sure you choose natural, low-ash briquettes without added chemicals.

What size bag should I get?

It depends on your trip style!
The Small (4–5kg) is perfect for overnighters and weekend campouts when you’re cooking a few meals over the fire.
The Large (6–8kg) is better for longer trips or when you’ll be cooking multiple roasts or running the fire over several days.

Pro tip: If you like having extra fuel on hand (or you feed a lot of hungry campmates), go the Large.

How much weight can the bags hold?

The small bag is designed to hold up to 5kgs and the large bag up to 8kg. The amount of charcoal you can fit in the bag will depend on the style of charcoal, eg heat beads will be smaller in size, therefore more can fit in the bag, whereas large charge lumps will fit less.

ARCFIRE EVERY NIGHT!

Travelling on the road full time means you need to make the most of all the space you have in the van. We ditched our flat-pack fire pit and upgraded to the ArcPit, we cannot believe how much more space we now have in the van, we enjoy an ArcPit fire almost every night!

DINNER WITH A VIEW!

Watching the ArcPit rotisserie spin with the Flinders Rangers as a backdrop, was the highlight of my trip. Having the ability to cook conveniently in the most remote locations of Australia has changed the way we camp.

MUST HAVE ACCESSORY!

Space saving is important when it comes to storing camping accessories on my Sprinter van, that’s why I was one of ArcMate’s first customers and have since purchased all their accessories. The ArcPit takes up no space on my spare tyre, it’s a must have accessory when travelling.

Loved by thousands of Aussie & New Zealand Campers!
